Briefly about Bleach manga:

Once in the bedroom of fifteen-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki gets Rukiya Kuchiki – shinigami, a reaper that collects the souls of the dead to send them to the afterlife. Together with her, the evil spirit Empty gets into the house. In the course of the battle with him, Shinigami weakens and, in order not to let an innocent man die, passes some of Ichigo’s forces. By mistake, he absorbs them entirely and eventually acquires all the abilities of the Shinigs. Now, together with Rukiya, who weakened for a while after the incident and had to go to the guy for help, he has to absorb human souls, fight with evil spirits and protect our world from the other side invasion.

Read Bleach Manga.

“That’s why I swore to myself that I would be your faithful friend. If you were plunged into immense sorrow, I would share it. If I found great joy, I would want to share it with you. When you lost your way, I would scold you. If you had made terrible mistakes, I would forgive you. If the world came to despise you, I would be your refuge. Somehow, I would want to give someone who has lost the ability to love this world the power to love it again.”

The first time I encountered this manga, or rather this anime, was when I had a lot of free time. By then I was already familiar with anime culture. And that familiarity didn’t start with The Blitz, nor with Naruto. I had a kind of patronizing and dismissive attitude towards shōnen. But here’s Bleach, with the most shounen protagonist ever. With nyah moments, with a simple plot… Anyway, it’s just a regular boy’s anime Bleach Yoruichi.

It’s probably because of the characters. Starting with Ichigo himself, each subsequent new character that appeared grabbed my attention and fell in love with me. God, how I was melted at the keyboard by colorful characters like Mayuri Kurotsuchi, like Gin Ichimaru, like Urahara-sensei, or Ulkiorra “Our All” Schiffer… Up to a certain point, I didn’t give a damn about fights or plot – I just enjoyed the stories and emotions of my favorites. And the world around them – Seireite and Ueco Mundo, Caracura. Yamamoto Bleach and Las Noches – along with the organizations around them and their inherent characteristics… well at least they weren’t unpleasant or uninteresting.

Then I began to get interested in the specifics of the power vertical and the details of the local combat system. Kubo-sensei didn’t let me down either. Yes, the system he devised is quite simple and in some places naive. Reyatsu-shikai-bankai. Kido. Submission. Zele Schneider. One, two, three. Some people don’t like it. But I’ll be honest, I’m all for it. Why complicate things? Everything brilliant is simple. In this, the Kubo manga reminds me of sports manga, about kendo or go. Blankers, arrancars, shinigami, fullbringers – basically all using the same techniques in a different manner. And it’s pretty damn realistic – in its own way.
But my real love affair with “Blich” began more recently – since the last arc, with the quincy, began.
